2. BACKGROUND :Safaricom has 7 main office blocks, 5 Regional Offices, 11 switches and 47 retail shops which are located across Nairobi, Mt. Kenya, Western/Nyanza, Coast and Rift Valley. Safaricom has contrated several vendors to provide a variety of Facilities Management Services. This operational model however creates operational complexity and inefficiencies. As a technology based company with a global mindset and outlook, we believe that there is need and opportunity to streamline operations and create greater efficiency and effectiveness in Facilities Management Services. Safaricom is therefore exploring the capacity and experience that exist in the market to provide Facilities Management Services in an integrated model.
