Invest in Africa (IIA) is a private sector-led non-pro­fit initiative working to empower Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the continent to create jobs. IIA is a leadership network whose membership includes Multinational Corporates (MNCs), local MSMEs, and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) who share a common purpose to empower enterprise and create positive impact (Jobs).

Is an online platform and a service provided by Invest in Africa (IIA), that

convenes entrepreneurs and business leaders of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)

to access opportunities for skills development, market and finance linkages, provided

through IIA’s partnership with corporates who share the interest of prospering the

economy through enterprise development.

To register, click the Register link at the top of the page to complete the registration form

Once you have registered you will receive an invitation email to activate your log-in credentials, In the email click on “accept invitation” and then follow these steps to complete signup and start the onboarding process.

a) Log in using your email and password

b) Pay annual subscription fee using the payment method(s) provided on the payment page. You can use a promo code if available.  

c) From your dashboard click on ‘My companies’ and then select the company you just registered to complete a supplier information request questionnaire that has 5 sections (section A-E).

d) In section D you will be required to upload up-to-date copies of your company documents.

e) After completing all the sections of the supplier information request questionnaire, IIA will verify your company within 10 working days, to position it as an eligible beneficiary of the platform services. Meanwhile, you can already begin using the Biashara Network, a business networking community

There are 4 main types of business organization: sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, and Limited Liability Company, or LLC.

For sole proprietorship type of business, the requirements are:

  • Certificate of incorporation
  • KRA Pin
  • KRA Tax compliance
  • Business permit where applicable
  • ID Copy of the major shareholders

For Partnership, Corporation and Limited Liability Company (LLC), the requirements are:

  •  Certificate of incorporation
  • CR 12
  • KRA Pin
  • KRA Tax compliance
  • Business permit where applicable
  • ID Copy of the major shareholders

For Consultants the requirements are:

  • CV
  • KRA Pin
  • KRA Tax Compliance Certificate

Access to Finance​

Invest in Africa (IIA) is committed to enhancing SME’s capacity to access finance and accelerate business growth. The IIA Access to Finance pillar is focused on building SME’S capacity to access finance through Investor readiness program and the virtual library dubbed Biashara Academy. Through IIA financial partners SME’S have been able to access financial linkages to grow their business net worth. 

Access to Markets​

A unique online technology solution that links local registered SMEs to real-time opportunities availed by our partners.​

Through the Biashara.Now platform, member SMEs can access the following:

  • Learning and skills development opportunities to grow the business, provided
    through IIA SME capacity building programs and an online library dubbed Biashara Academy.
  • Business to business networking through interaction in an online business
    community dubbed Biashara Network.
  • Linkage to financial Institutions within the IIA partnership framework.
  • Tenders’ opportunities for supply and provision of good and services required by IIA buyer partners.
